It has been passed on and evolved over long periods of time through direct experience and structured reflexion always in the context of developmental communities.

Carol Sanford has stewarded the evolution of this Work over the last five decades. She viewed business as a powerful instrument of planetary evolution and has written extensively about regenerative approaches to business strategy, leadership and management. Beyond business, she also founded developmental communities sourced in living systems principles in the fields of education, governance, parenting, conscious dying among others.

The Butterfly Foundation has funded the translation into French of seminal works of contemporary regenerative practice. Carol Sanford's first business focused book is now available in French and will be a valuable instrument for aspiring and established practitioners alike to evolve their own business practices and the way they think about and engage their stakeholders.
The Regenesis Group has been on the forefront of regenerative practice for over 30 years. It has redefined the realm of what humans can aspire to become in relation to the ​living systems they inhabit and love. Their regenerative approach to land use, community development, and the built environment has hugely contributed to the evolution of sustainability practices beyond the goal to do less harm, proving that human activity can be a source of health and regeneration, rather than destruction and degradation. Also funded by the Butterfly Foundation, their book is now available in French.
